Science: Google Drawing

Standards:
Third Grade Science Standard 2: Students will understand that organisms depend on living and nonliving things within their environment

Ed Tech Standard: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Innovative Designer: I solve problems by creating new and imaginative solutions by using a variety of tools.

Conclusion:
I liked the Google Drawings tool because it made it easy to create a project. What I liked about this tool is that it is easy to use and learn. You can also easily access it through google drive and it makes it easier to save and get to it. One thing I didn't like about his tool is there are limits to the things you can do. I don't know if I would use this tool when I become a teacher because there aren't a lot of things I could do with it.
However if I did use it, I would use it as a tool for students to use and complete work sheets. It could also be used for students working together to create some sort of little presentation on a subject.
Over all I liked this tool but it wasn't a tool that stood out to me.

English Launguage Arts: Podcast Audacity

Standards:
Second Grade ELA Reading: Literature Standard 1: Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.

Ed Tech Standard 6: Use telecommunications efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interests.

ISTE Standard Empowered Learner: I use technology to set goals, work toward achieving them and demonstrate my learning.

Conclusion:
I chose Audacity for my podcast tool because I have seen it and it is already installed on a computer that I can access. Audacity looks really complicated when you initially open it up because there are a lot of random numbers and symbols that look confusing. But it was pretty simple to learn how to use. You click record to start and you can pause when ever you need to think over what you want to say. I personally don't like podcasts because I think it is hard way to learn if you can only hear and not see something. That's why I would use this tool for something like reading a book! When using it this way I could record what ever material I wanted read, and then I could play it in class and still use visuals (like the book). I would want students to listen, watch, and follow along as they talk with others to help them understand what the book is about.
Overall I think the tool was easy to use, but I would only use this tool if I could pair it with some sort of visual aid to help students of all learning types better comprehend.

Math: Educreations

Standards:
Third Grade Math Core Standard OPERATIONS AND ALGEBRAIC THINKING: Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division within 100. They demonstrate understanding of the properties of multiplication and the relationship between multiplication and division. Students use the four operations to identify and explain patterns in arithmetic.

Ed Tech Standard: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Computational Thinker: I identify authentic problems, work with data and use a step-by-step process to automate solutions.

MULTIPLACATION LESSON:

DIVISION LESSON:

Conclusion:
Educreation has been my absolute favorite tool that I have learned so far! The reason I like it so much is because first, it is really easy to use! Second, I love that I can talk through my steps with the students. Lastly I love how fast it is to make and post.
I have seen this tool before because it was used in my Math 1050 class in a flip classroom. Every night we would go on to see the new lesson our teacher had posted for us to watch. I would use this tool in my future classroom for the same thing. I would use it as a way to teach from home. I think this is an ideal tool for a flip classroom type of setting.
I found this tool the most helpful for math because you can write out and show your steps to your students while talking them through it. The only down side to this tool is if you mess up, you rather leave it in, or re-record. But this tool does have a pause button so you can stop and think of what you want to say next! Overall this tool has been so fun to use and I can definitely see myself using this tool in the future.

Science: Popplet

Standards:
First Grade Science Core Standard 4: Life Science. Students will gain an understanding of Life Science through the study of changes in organisms over time and the nature of living things.

Ed Tech 5: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Knowledge Constructor: I critically select, evaluate and synthesis digital resources into a collection that reflects my learning and builds my knowledge.

Conclusion:
I used popplet to help me with the mind map assignment and I found it very easy use. It was an easy way to organize my thoughts and help me get all the material on the page. The one thing I didn't like about this tool was that it took along time to get all the different nodes on the page. Sometimes it would glitch and the nodes would fly around the page with my mouse and it was frustrating. But once I got the hang of it I really liked how it looked and displayed my thoughts.
I would use this in my future classroom to help kids brain storm ideas for their projects by spreading out their thoughts across the page. This could also be a collaborative assignment that would help kids work with their peers.

Health: SlideBean

Standards:
Fourth Grade Health Core Standard 2: The students will adopt health -promoting and risk-reducing behaviors to prevent substance abuse.

Ed Tech Standard 7: Use telecommunications on-line resources to participate in collaborative problem-solving activities to develop solutions or products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Creative Communicator: I communicate effectively and express myself creatively using different tools, styles, formats and digital media.

SlideBean

Conclusion:
I was looking for a presentation tool that could help me show material that would help include collaboration for my future students.
I found slide bean! This tool is so helpful when creating presentations. It gives you a lot of different options for things that you can include on your slide. It has options from graphics, to pictures, to any text entry and the template that includes these is already preset up! I loved how easy it was to embed the videos in my presentation.
How ever this tool gave me a lot of problems! It deleted my slides over and over again because the site would stop working and it would loose my work. After I finally finished it, it was hard to figure out how to share the link with others. This tool is not very friendly to use after the presentation is made.
I would use this tool in my class to present material and to encourage collaboration among students. I think this could help them by displaying questions for them to talk about.

Science: Google Forms

Standards:
Sixth Grade Science Core Standard 3: Students will understand the relationship and attributes of objects in the solar system.

Ed Tech Standard 8: Use technology resources for problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.

ISTE Standard Computational Thinker: I identify authentic problems, work with data, and use a step by step process to automate solutions.

 Conclusion:
I loved this tool because of how easy it is to figure out! I have never tried google forms and I figured out how to use it with out watching any of the tutorial videos. I loved how this tool made it easy to set up the questions they way you want, it is also easy to check the responses that students give. I also love how you can use google forms for just an assessment to see where students are at, or you can make it a quiz and add point value.
I would use this tool specifically for assessments. It is fast to make and I could check up to see how students are grasping the material. This could play as feedback for me as a teacher to see if what I am teaching is making sense to my students. This was also easy to embed because it gave me the embedded URL, and normally I struggle finding out how to do that.
Over all this tool was easy and very helpful to me!

Science: Mentimeter

Standards
Third Grade Science Core Standard 5: Students will understand that the sun is the main source of heat and light for things living on Earth. They will also understand that the motion of rubbing objects together may produce heat.

Ed Tech Standard 6: Use telecommunications efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interests.

ISTE Standard Innovate Designer: I solve problems by creating new and imaginative solutions using a variety of tools.

Conclusion:
I originally chose this tool because I wanted a presentation where I could quiz my students while still presenting information at the same time! This is how I cam across Mentimeter.
This tool was so fun for me to create and use! The creation was a lot like a power point or google slides. You pick what you want your template to look like and create it the way you want to use it. What makes this different from other slide show tools, is that it has various quizzes and free response questions through out the presentation.
In class I would use this to present information and have the students work in small groups to help answer the questions and talk about the material. This tool would be very helpful in keeping the students attention throughout the presentation by making it more interactive. They get to answer different questions to help me understand their comprehension level. The one thing that I didn't like about this tool, is that there aren't any good templates for just text. I wanted to displaying information or use bullet points, but the templates used for those were very difficult to work with. They have word restrictions and a weird lay out. Over all I really enjoyed this tool and I think it is a fun way to incorporate interactives that can be used for collaboration in class!

Math: News Letter

Standards
Third Grade Math Core Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division with in 100. They demonstrate understanding of the properties of multiplication and the relationship between multiplication and division. Students use the four operations to identify and explain patterns in arithmetic.

Ed Tech Standard 6: Use telecommunications efficiently to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interest.

ISTE Standard Creative Communicator: I communicate efficiently and express myself creatively using different tools, styles, formats and digital media.

Conclusion: Newsletter has been the best tool that I have done so far because I loved how much fun It was! I love the possibility it gave me to be creative and have some and experiment! The process of making a newsletter take a long time! I was working for a few hours while trying to create it. I used word because I know if offers more tools that would help me create the template I wanted. Word could be used for newsletters, assignments, announcements, and important papers for parents.

The Newsletter is the best way to communicate with the parents of your student and can be useful when highlighting specific dates that are coming up. Newsletters can also highlight different students who are doing excellent in class.

Health: Google Slides

Standards
Fifth Grade Health Core Standard 6: The students will understand how a healthy diet and exercise can increased the likelihood of physical and mental wellness.

Ed Tech Standard 6: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Global Collaborator: I strive to broaden my perspective, understand others and work efficiently in teams using digital tools

Conclusion: I love google slides! It was easy to set up because you can access it through your google drive. Slides are so easy to use and navigate. I didn't need to watch any of the tutorial vidoes because this tool came easy for me and I was able to catch on fast. I think this tool could be used for so many different things. It could be used for group projects or presentations as well as lessons or personal work. I used google slides to create a presentaion for a lesson. We, as a class, would go through the presentation and learn the material. This is a great way for them to listen and then discuss with their peers. Some cool things about this tool is you can share it with anyone and they can edit or change it. I think it would be cool to make an interactive lesson where children could go in and respond while interacting with others.

Math: Infographic

Standards
Math Core Standard, first grade, Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction within 20. Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction. Work with addition and subtraction equations.

Ed Tech Standard 7: Use telecommunications and on-line resources to participate in collaborative problem-solving activities to develop solutions or products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Computational Thinker: Identify authentic problems, work with data and use step-by-step process to automate solutions.

Conclusion: I chose piktochart because I have used it before in other classes and I find it really easy and self explanatory when it comes to using it. However, this tool is very time consuming! It took me just over 2 hours to complete this math infographic. It take time to plan and place what you want on the page. I think it is can be frustrating at times because its hard to only work on one block at a time. I kept switching back and forth to try and make it flow.
I would use this for learning for collaborative groups. We would go over the first part of the lesson together as a class and then I would print this out and have them solve the problems while working together in small groups!

Moon Cycles: Youtube

Standards
Sixth Grade Science Core Standard 1: Students will understand that the appearance of the moon changes in a predictable cycle as it orbits Earth and as Earth rotates on its axis.

Ed Tech Standard 8: Use technology resources for problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.

ISTE Standard Digital Citizen: I understand the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world.

Conclusion: YouTube was an easy tool to use because I didn't have to make an account! I love the fact that it is connected to google and I didn't have to create a login! It makes it very easy to get started. It is quick to type in what your looking for and hit search and find videos that might be applicable! However I think the only down side is there are so many different videos and it can take a while to find one that would work. Other than that if find videos to very entertaining and interesting because it is a different way to learn!
I would use this tool  to personally post videos that I created specifically for class. It is easy to make your own videos and post them for who ever your subscribers are. I would use this for students to refer back to lessons and concepts that we are going over in class. It can also be used for help on homework assignments. Over all this tool would be perfect for self learning to help solidify concepts and make class just a little bit more entertaining.

Health Ed: Answer Garden

Standards
Third Grade Health Education Core Standard 1: The students will learn ways to improve mental health and manage stress.

Ed Tech Standard 6: Uses telecommunication efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interest.

ISTE Standard Creative Communicator: I communicate effectively and express myself creatively using different tools, styles, formats and digital media.

Reflection: I think that Answer Garden could be a very useful tool in the classroom to hear student responses. I love how answer garden is so easy to set up! It doesn't require an email and has a password so you can easily check the status as an admin. The  best part about it is that it takes less than a few minutes to set up. I shared the link with my extended family and asked them to respond. I had all my answers with in a matter of seconds! I love how fast it is! I think that the only down side is that I would want to see what student submitted what response to asses their progress. In my classroom I would use this tool for feedback from students as well as for class open discussion. I would have my students pull out their smart devices to answer or we could use a class computer set.

Seasons: Thinglink

Standards
Sixth Grade Science Core Standard 2: Students will understand how Earth's tilt on its axis changes the length of daylight and creates the seasons.

Ed Tech Standard 5: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

ISTE Standard Global Collaborator: I strive to broaden my perspective, understand others and work effectively in teams using digital tools.

Reflection: Thinglink was an interesting tool for me to use. I personally struggled getting the software to do what I wanted it to. I also found it very time consuming to get the link and information I wanted on the page. However I absolute love the interactive side it provides. They can see the picture, read about it, and also watch a video, all in one page! I do love how it looks and the learning it could provide for students. In my classroom I would use it for a collaborative project for kids to work on together to understand why we have seasons and what they look like! Overall I think this tool is fun and an interactive way to have students learn.

Reflection: I think google docs is a tool that can be used for just about anything. It can be used for collaborative writing and group projects. It offers the chance to have multiple people working on the same document at the same time. It can be great for collaborative work as well as individual writing, tests, or quizzes. I found it rather easy to use and easy to share with others. I love the fact that you can share it with who you choose and they can access and change the document when needed. Google docs is a great way for students to demonstrate what they know and what they have been learning. While exploring the tool I found it nearly impossible to find something negative about google docs. The way I would used this tool in my own classroom would be to have students use them for group collaborative projects and occasionally use it for tests or quizzes. Overall I enjoyed learning a little bit more about google docs and the different ways I could use it in my future classroom.

PINTEREST BOARD
There's always room for space prints though!:

Reflection

I chose to do pinterest to help me teach the basics of first grade science! I enjoyed searching for things that would help students learn. The best thing about pinterest is the it is easy to use and east to search and find things that you are looking for. The hard thing about pinterest is that it can be a little time consuming to find exactly what you want to teach because the search option can pull up millions of possible pins to use. It is also hard to organize your thoughts in the order you would like them to be learned because the pins are placed randomly inside the board. The way I would use this tool in the classroom would be to pull up my board of pins and address to the ones most important. Then depending on the given time, I would go to the activities and other fun pins. Students could use pinterest by finding my board and looking over the concepts that maybe they didn't fully understand. Overall I think pinterest is a fun, easy, and an understandable way for students to learn.
